Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. FOLLOW PRECAUTION
a. Follow the PRECAUTION.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY

7. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU
a. Disconnect the ECU and skid control buzzer connectors.




b. Remove the 2 bolts and ECU.

8. REMOVE SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY
a. Using pliers, remove the buzzer.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL BUZZER ASSEMBLY

2. INSTALL SKID CONTROL ECU




a. Install the ECU with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m(51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

b. Connect the ECU and skid control buzzer connectors.

3. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIR BAG ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH
6. INSTALL DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

9. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.

10. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
a. Perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration.

11. CHECK VSC SENSOR SIGNAL
a. Check the VSC sensor signal.
