REAR SPOILERRear Spoiler:
REMOVAL
HINT: When removing the spoiler, heat the body and spoiler using a heat light.
NOTICE: Do not heat the body and moulding excessively.
1. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
Remove the luggage compartment door cover.
2. REMOVE REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 nuts.
b. Apply protective tape around the spoiler.
c. Heat the spoiler.
d. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to the ends of a piano wire.
e. Remove the 3 pins, 2 clips and spoiler.
1. Pull the piano wire under the spoiler to cut through the adhesive.
2. Cut through the adhesive until a pin or clip obstructs the wire. Remove the pin or clip and then continue cutting through the adhesive until the spoiler is fully removed.
NOTICE:
- If planning to reuse the spoiler, take care not to damage it.
- Do not damage the body.
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- When installing the spoiler, heat the body and spoiler using a heat light.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Clean the luggage compartment door surface:
1. Using a heat light, heat the luggage compartment door surface.
NOTICE: Do not heat the luggage compartment door excessively.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the luggage compartment door.
3. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
b. If reusing the spoiler: Clean the spoiler.
1. Using a heat light, heat the spoiler.
NOTICE: Do not heat the spoiler excessively.
2. Remove the double-sided tape from the spoiler.
3. Wipe off the stains with cleaner.
4. Apply new double-sided tape to the spoiler as shown in the illustration.
5. Remove the peeling paper from the spoiler.
HINT: After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.
6. Install the spoiler to the luggage compartment door.
