Keyless Entry Transmitter Battery: Service and Repair

Transmitter Battery:




TRANSMITTER BATTERY

REMOVAL

NOTE: Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.




1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER HOUSING COVER
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the screw.
b. Push the cover with your finger as shown in the illustration so a gap appears. Then, pry out the cover using that gap.

NOTE: Do not forcibly pry up the cover.

2. REMOVE DOOR CONTROL TRANSMITTER ASSEMBLY




3. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 screws and cover.
b. Remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery).

NOTE:
- Do not push the terminals with your finger.
- Do not forcibly pry up the battery (lithium battery). The terminals may become damaged.
- Do not touch the battery with wet hands. Water may cause rust.
- Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter, as it may cease to work.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY
a. Install the battery (lithium battery) with the positive (+) side up, as shown in the illustration.

NOTE:
- Be sure that the positive side and the negative side of the transmitter battery are matched up correctly.
- Be careful not to bend the transmitter battery electrode during insertion.
- Keep the transmitter case interior free of dust and oil.

b. Using a screwdriver, install the cover with the 2 screws.

NOTE: If the screws are loose, it may cause faulty contact between the battery (lithium battery) and the terminals.
