DISASSEMBLY

HINT:
- Before adjusting the door position for vehicles equipped with side airbag sensors, be sure to disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. After adjustment, inspect the SRS warning light, the side airbag system for normal operation.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE






a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

3. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE SPARE DISC WHEEL
5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH






a. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
b. Remove the trim cover.

7. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH
a. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.
b. Remove the trim cover.

8. REMOVE TOOL BOX COVER
a. Remove the 4 nuts and cover.

9. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY






a. Remove the bolt and striker LH and RH.

10. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM REAR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY






a. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips and trim cover.

11. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL CARRIER BRACKET






a. Remove the 4 bolts and bracket.

12. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH






a. Remove the cushion.
b. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 covers.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

c. Using a T40 "TORX" wrench, remove the screw.
d. Remove the 2 bolts.
e. Remove the tonneau cover stopper.
f. Disconnect the connector.

13. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

14. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY






a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 covers.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the 2 nuts and tonneau cover.

15. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LOWER






a. Using a clip remover, remove the 6 clips and trim cover.

16. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE RH






a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the side plate.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the drain hose.

17. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

18. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT






a. Using a clip remover, remove the 12 clips and trim cover.

19. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY






a. Using a screwdriver, remove the light.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Disconnect the connector.

20. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE RH






a. Using a clip remover, remove the 4 clips.
b. Detach the 3 fasteners and remove the trim cover.

21. REMOVE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL






a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the bezel.

HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
- Pressing the parts indicated in the illustration (around the service hole) releases the fitting of the claw.

22. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE LH
a. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

25. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH






a. Remove the 2 nuts and cable bracket.

HINT: On the LH side, remove the wire harness reel.

b. Disconnect the luggage compartment door hinge cable.
c. Using a clip remover, disengage the clamps of the cable.






d. Loosen the nut and then disconnect the cable.






e. Remove the 2 bolts and 3 nuts.
f. Disconnect the connectors.
g. Remove the luggage compartment door hinge.

HINT: If shims are present, store them.

26. REMOVE BACK DOOR STOPPER BRACKET RH






a. Remove the 2 bolts and stopper bracket.

27. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE CABLE






a. Using a screwdriver, remove the E-ring.
b. Using pliers, remove the clip and control cable.

28. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY






a. Using a screwdriver, remove the 2 clamps.
b. Remove the door support.

29. REMOVE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY






a. Disconnect the connector from the bracket.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and motor with the bracket.

30. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY






a. Using pliers, move the cable and connecting lever until the closer fitting screw is visible.






b. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, remove the 2 screws
c. Disconnect the connector from the bracket.
d. Remove the luggage door closer.

31. REMOVE LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY






a. Remove the screw and switch.

HINT: The screw has a rotating stopper.

32. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH






a. Remove the 3 bolts and drive gear.

33. REMOVE LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY






a. Remove the 2 screws and gear cover.
b. Remove the screw and switch.

REASSEMBLY

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Install the switch with the screw.

2. INSTALL LUGGAGE DOOR DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH






a. Install the gear with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 24 N.m (245 kgf.cm, 18 ft.lbf)

3. INSTALL LIMIT SWITCH ASSEMBLY






a. Install the switch with the screw.

HINT:
- Be sure to engage the corner hole of the gear cover edge and claw.
- Be careful not to damage the gear cover when the screw is tightened.

4. INSTALL LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY






a. Using a T30 "TORX" wrench, install the door closer with the 2 screws.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

5. INSTALL LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY






a. Install the motor with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)

6. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY






a. Install the snap to the support.
b. Install the support to the luggage compartment door hinge.

7. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE CABLE






a. Connect the cable.
b. Install the clip.

HINT: Make sure that the direction of the clip and the installation position are correct.

8. INSTALL BACK DOOR STOPPER BRACKET RH






a. Temporarily install the stopper bracket to the hinge with the 2 bolts.

HINT: Tighten the stopper bracket and luggage door drive gear ground wire together.

9. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH






a. Temporarily install the door hinge with the 2 bolts and 3 nuts.

HINT: At this time, install the shims that have been stored.

b. Remove the 2 hole plugs.
c. Use the same procedures described above on the other side.
d. Adjust the hinge position so that SST for positioning can be set as illustrated.

e. After the hinge position is adjusted, fully tighten the 2 bolts and 3 nuts which were temporarily installed.

Torque: 22 N.m (224 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)






f. Install the back door stopper bracket with the 2 bolts labeled A and 4 bolts labeled B.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf) for bolt A
5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf) for bolt B







g. Connect the cable and then tighten the nuts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

HINT:
- Tighten the nuts while positioning the cable.
- Make sure the length of A and B are equal.

h. Engage the clamp of the door hinge cable.

HINT: Install the clamp securely.






i. Connect the door hinge cable.
j. Install the cable bracket with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 6.9 N.m (70 kgf.cm, 61 in.lbf)






k. Tighten the nut labeled A before tightening the nut labeled B. Then install the hinge cable to the cable bracket.

Torque: 22 N.m (224 kgf.cm, 16 in.lbf)

10. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER
12. ADJUST LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
13. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE RH






a. Install the trim cover and attach the 3 fasteners.
b. Install the bezel and attach the 4 claws.

14. INSTALL DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BEZEL






a. Install the bezel and attach the 4 claws.

15. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER SIDE LH
a. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

16. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY






a. Connect the connector.
b. Install the light.

17. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT






a. Install the trim cover and 12 clips.

18. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE RH






a. Install the drain hose.
b. Install the side plate and attach the claw.

19. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH SIDE PLATE LH
a. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

20. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LOWER






a. Install the trim cover and 6 clips.

21. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY






a. Install the tonneau cover and 2 nuts.
b. Install the 2 covers.

22. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY RH






a. Connect the connector.
b. Install the tonneau cover stopper.
c. Install the 2 bolts.
d. Using a T40 "TORX" wrench, install the screw.
e. Install the 2 covers.
f. Install the cushion.

23. INSTALL TONNEAU COVER STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

24. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL CARRIER BRACKET






a. Install the bracket with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

25. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM REAR COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY






a. Install the trim cover and 4 clips.

26. INSTALL LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY






a. Install the striker with the bolt.

27. INSTALL TOOL BOX COVER
a. Install the cover with the 4 nuts.

28. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER RH






a. Install the trim cover and 3 clips.

29. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER LH
a. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

30. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
31. INSTALL SPARE DISC WHEEL
32. INSTALL SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY
33. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE






a. Install the plate and attach the 4 clips.

34. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
35. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
