Absorber Control Actuator (For Rear Side)

REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Power Seat:
Remove the seat cushion.
b. for Ottoman:
Remove the seat cushion.

4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH
a. for Power Seat:
Remove the seat cushion.
b. for Ottoman:
Remove the seat cushion.

5. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY CENTER (for Power Seat)

6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Power Seat:
Remove the seatback.
b. for Ottoman:
Remove the seatback.

7. REMOVE REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Ottoman)

8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
a. for Power Seat:
Remove the seatback.
b. for Ottoman:
Remove the seatback.

9. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY CENTER (for Power Seat)
10. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Seat Type)
11. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Seat Type)

12. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
a. for Standard Body:
Remove the rear door scuff plate.
b. for Long Body:
Remove the rear door scuff plate.

13. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
a. for Standard Body:
Remove the rear door scuff plate.
b. for Long Body:
Remove the rear door scuff plate.

14. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
15. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH
16. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH
17. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH

18. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY.
a. w/ Rear Sunshade:
Remove the package tray trim.
b. w/o Rear Sunshade:
Remove the package tray trim.

19. REMOVE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CAP LH




a. Remove the 3 nuts and shock absorber cap.
b. Disconnect the connector from absorber control actuator.
c. Disconnect the absorber cap from wire harness.

20. REMOVE ABSORBER CONTROL ACTUATOR




a. Turn the absorber control actuator counterclockwise approximately 40� to remove it.

NOTE:
- Do not turn the actuator more than 40°.
- Do not drop the absorber control actuator. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ABSORBER CONTROL ACTUATOR




a. Check that the control rod of the rear shock absorber is in the position shown in the illustration.

NOTE: If the control rod is not in the position given in the illustration, turn the control rod to adjust the position and install the absorber control actuator.




b. Install the absorber control actuator to the actuator support bracket.
c. Turn the actuator clockwise approximately 40° until a click is felt.

NOTE:
- Before turning the actuator, make sure to check that the actuator output shaft and control rod are securely connected.
- Do not turn the actuator more than 40°.
- Do not drop the absorber control actuator. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.

2. INSTALL REAR SHOCK ABSORBER CAP
a. Connect the connector to the absorber control actuator.




b. Install the absorber cap with the 3 nuts.

Torque: 14 N.m (143 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)

c. Connect the wire harness to the absorber cap.

3. INSTALL PACKAGE TRAY TRIM PANEL ASSEMBLY
a. w/ Rear Sunshade:
Install the package tray trim,
b. w/o Rear Sunshade:
Install the package tray trim.

4. INSTALL ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER LH
5. INSTALL ROOF SIDE GARNISH INNER RH
6. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
7. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH RH

8. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
a. for Standard Body:
Install the rear door scuff plate.
b. for Long Body:
Install the rear door scuff plate.

9. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
a. for Standard Body:
Install the rear door scuff plate.
b. for Long Body:
Install the rear door scuff plate.

10. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Seat Type)
11. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Seat Type)
12. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY CENTER (for Power Seat)

13. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH
a. for Power Seat:
Install the rear seatback.
b. for Ottoman:
Install the rear seatback.

14. INSTALL REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY (for Ottoman)

15. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Power Seat:
Install the rear seatback.
b. for Ottoman:
Install the rear seatback.

16. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY CENTER (for Power Seat)

17. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY RH
a. for Power Seat:
Install the seat cushion.
b. for Ottoman:
Install the seat cushion.

18. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH
a. for Power Seat:
Install the seat cushion.
b. for Ottoman:
Install the seat cushion.

19. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
20. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

21. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

22. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
