Compressor/Pump: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
7. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH
9. REMOVE FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH
10. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH
11. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH
12. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH
13. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH
14. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
15. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL RH

16. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH
a. Remove the 2 bolts.
b. Partially remove the fender liner.

HINT: It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the compressor can be removed.

17. REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL COMPRESSOR




a. Disconnect the 2 connectors and detach the 2 clamps.
b. Disconnect the height control filter from the front bumper reinforcement.
c. Disconnect the height control tube.




d. Remove the 2 nuts, bolt and height control compressor with bracket.
e. Detach the 3 clamps.
f. Detach the connector's claw and remove the connector from the bracket.




g. Remove the 3 bolts, 3 bushings and bracket from the compressor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL COMPRESSOR




a. Install the 3 bushings and bracket to the height control compressor with the 3 bolts.

Torque: 5.9 N.m (60 kgf.cm, 52 in.lbf)

b. Push the connector into the housing until a clicking sound is heard.
c. Attach the 3 clamps.




d. Install the height control sensor with the bolt and 2 nuts.

Torque: 19.1 N.m (195 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)

e. Connect the height control tube.
f. Connect the height control filter to the bumper reinforcement.




g. Connect the 2 connectors and attach the 2 clamps.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

5. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.

6. INSPECT FOR AIR LEAK
a. Inspect for air leak.

7. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RH
a. Install the 2 bolts.

8. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER COVER
9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH
10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RH
11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH
12. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH
13. INSTALL FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING LH
14. INSTALL FRONT FENDER WHEEL OPENING MOULDING RH
15. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE ASSEMBLY
16. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
17. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
18. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
19. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
20. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH

Torque: 140 N.m (1428 kgf.cm, 103 ft.lbf)
