Front Acceleration Sensor

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
4. REMOVE NO.1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
5. REMOVE NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

8. REMOVE ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the sensor connector.




b. Remove the bolt and acceleration sensor with bracket from the instrument panel reinforcement.

NOTE:
- Avoid any impact to the acceleration sensor.
- Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
- The acceleration sensor removed from the vehicle must not be placed upside down.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY




a. Install the acceleration sensor with bracket to instrument panel reinforcement with the bolt.

Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf)

NOTE:
- Avoid any impact to the acceleration sensor.
- Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.

b. Connect the sensor connector.

2. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL NO.1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL NO.1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

10. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
