Ball Joint: Specifications
Wear LimitFRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH
Inspect the turning of the upper ball joint.
Install the installation nut to the ball joint stud.
Move the stud back and forth 5 times. Using a torque wrench, turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn and take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Standard turning torque 3.5 N*m (36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf) or less
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the front suspension upper arm with a new one.
Check the dust boots for cracks or grease leakage.
FRONT NO. 1 SUSPENSION LOWER ARM ASSEMBLY LH
Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Standard turning torque 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf)
REAR UPPER NO. 1 CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY LH
Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Standard turning torque 3.5 N*m (36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf) or less
REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY LH
Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the fifth turn.
Standard turning torque 5.0 N*m (51 kgf*cm, 44 in.*lbf) or less
