Power Steering Motor: Service and Repair

DC / DC CONVERTER

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
(a) Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable from the battery terminal.

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE BATTERY
(a) Disconnect the positive (+) battery cable from the battery terminal.
(b) Remove the 2 nuts and battery clamp.
(c) Remove the battery insulator.
(d) Remove the battery.
4. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and battery tray.





5. REMOVE DC-DC CONVERTER
(a) Release the locks of the 2 converter assembly connectors A and B, and disconnect the connectors.





(b) Remove the 3 bolts and converter.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL DC-DC CONVERTER
(a) Install the converter with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf)





(b) Connect the 2 converter connectors A and B, and securely lock the connectors.
2. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY
(a) Install the battery tray with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf)
3. INSTALL BATTERY
(a) Install the battery.
(b) Install the battery insulator.
(c) Install the battery clamp with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 47 in.*lbf)
(d) Connect the positive (+) battery cable to the battery terminal.
Torque: 5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf)
(e) Connect the negative (-) battery cable to the battery terminal.
Torque: 5.6 N*m (57 kgf*cm, 50 in.*lbf)
4. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
5. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light.
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
