GENERATOR
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
a. Remove the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
5. REMOVE NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
6. REMOVE NO.1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
7. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER
8. REMOVE NO.2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
9. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
10. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT
11. REMOVE GENERATOR
a. Remove the nut, and disconnect the harness from the +B terminal.
b. Disconnect the generator connector.
c. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
d. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the 2 stud bolts and generator.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL GENERATOR
a. Using an E8 "TORX" socket wrench, set the generator with the 2 stud bolts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
b. Install the generator with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
c. Connect the generator connector.
d. Connect the harness to the +B terminal with the nut.
Torque: 12 N.m (122 kgf.cm, 9 ft.lbf)
2. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT
3. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
4. INSTALL NO.2 ENGINE UNDER COVER
5. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER PROTECTOR LOWER
6. INSTALL NO.1 ENGINE UNDER COVER
7. INSTALL NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
8. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
9. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
a. Install the 6 clips and cowl top ventilator louver RH.
NOTE: If the cowl top ventilator louver RH is not properly installed, water may leak into the engine room and cause malfunctions. Therefore, make sure the cowl top ventilator louver RH is installed properly.
12. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
