Acceleration/Deceleration Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVALNOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on.
Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
5. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE NO.3 BOX PANEL
7. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL UPPER
8. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER
9. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE CONSOLE COVER LOWER
11. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
12. REMOVE NO.1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
a. Detach the connector clamp (labeled A).
b. Remove the 2 clips (labeled B) and No. 1 duct.
13. REMOVE YAW RATE SENSOR
a. Remove the 2 bolts and sensor.
b. Disconnect the sensor connector.
NOTE:
- Make sure the yaw rate sensor's identification number is 1.
- Do not drop the yaw rate sensor. If it is dropped, do not use it.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.
1. INSTALL YAW RATE SENSOR
a. Connect the sensor connector.
b. Install the sensor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)
NOTE:
- Make sure the yaw rate sensor's identification number is 1.
- Do not drop the yaw rate sensor. If it is dropped, do not use it.
- Do not mistaken the installation direction of the yaw rate sensor.
- When installing the yaw rate sensor, make sure to avoid impact to the sensor.
- After the installation, check that the yaw rate sensor is not tilted due to the floor carpet or any foreign matter.
2. INSTALL NO.1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT
a. Install the No. 1 duct with the 2 clips (labeled A).
b. Attach the connector clamp (labeled B).
3. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL CONSOLE COVER LOWER
5. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER
7. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE PANEL UPPER
8. INSTALL NO.3 BOX PANEL
9. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY
13. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
15. PERFORM YAW RATE SENSOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION
a. Perform the yaw rate sensor zero point calibration.
16. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR SIGNAL
a. Check the yaw rate sensor signal.
