Power Mirror Switch: Service and Repair

OUTER MIRROR SWITCH

Outer Mirror Switch:





REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH END PANEL LH
3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
7. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
9. REMOVE OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY





a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Remove the switch and then disconnect the switch connector.

INSTALLATION

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSEMBLY





a. Attach the 4 claws to install the switch.
b. Connect the switch connector.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
5. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY
7. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

11. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
