Rear Airbag Sensor:

REAR AIRBAG SENSOR

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat)
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH (for Ottoman)
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Seat Type)
5. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat)
6. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Ottoman)
7. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Fixed Seat Type)
8. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
9. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
10. REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH

a. Remove the bolt and rear airbag sensor.
b. Disconnect the connector.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR LH

a. Check that the engine switch is off.
b. Check that the cable is disconnected from the battery negative (-) terminal.

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

c. Install the rear airbag sensor with the bolt.

Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)

NOTE:
- If the rear airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the rear airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

d. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the rear airbag sensor.
e. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH LH
3. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
4. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Fixed Seat Type)
5. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Ottoman)
6. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat)
7. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY (for Fixed Seat Type)
8. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH (for Ottoman)
9. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat)
10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

12. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
