Suspension Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
4. REMOVE NO.2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
5. REMOVE NO.2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER
7. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (
8. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
9. DISCONNECT CONNECTORS (w/ Clearance Warning ECU)
10. DISCONNECT CONNECTORS (w/ Parking Assist ECU)

11. REMOVE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU WITH BRACKET




a. Disconnect the suspension control ECU connectors.

HINT: Do not apply excessive force to the wire harnesses.




b. Remove the bolt, nut and bracket.

12. REMOVE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU




a. Remove the 2 nuts and suspension control ECU from the bracket.

NOTE:
- Avoid any impact to the suspension control ECU.
- Do not drop the ECU. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU




a. Install the suspension control ECU to the bracket with the 2 nuts.

Torque: 6.0 N.m (61 kgf.cm, 53 in.lbf)

NOTE:
- Avoid any impact to the suspension control ECU.
- Do not drop the ECU. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.

2. INSTALL SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU WITH BRACKET




a. Install the ECU with bracket with the nut and bolt.




b. Connect the ECU connectors.

3. CONNECT CONNECTORS (w/ Clearance Warning ECU)
4. CONNECT CONNECTORS (w/ Parking Assist ECU)
5. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
7. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER
9. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
12. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
13. ADJUST VEHICLE HEIGHT

NOTE: If the suspension control ECU has been replaced, be sure to adjust the vehicle height.

a. Adjust the vehicle height.

14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
