Steering Control ECU

STEERING CONTROL ECU

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

3. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY





4. REMOVE STEERING CONTROL ECU
(a) Disconnect the 3 ECU connectors.





(b) Remove the 3 screws and ECU.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL STEERING CONTROL ECU
(a) Install the ECU with the 3 screws.
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)

HINT:
^ Securely attach the hook (B) of the ECU to the blower.
^ Align positioning boss (A) of the blower with the hole of the ECU.





(b) Connect the 3 ECU connectors.
2. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
5. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Check the SRS warning light.
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

7. PERFORM VARIABLE GEAR RATIO STEERING SYSTEM CALIBRATION
(a) Perform variable gear ratio steering system calibration.
