Secondary Injector Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
6. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
7. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
8. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE

9. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP LH
a. Remove the air cleaner cap LH.

10. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP RH
a. Remove the air cleaner cap RH.

11. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE

12. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER




a. Disconnect the 8 injector driver connectors.
1. Disconnect the 6 connectors with wire harness locks and the 2 connectors without wire harness locks from the 2 injector drivers.

HINT: To release each connector lock, push the claw downward ("Release" in the illustration) and move the lock lever ("Move" in the illustration).




b. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and 2 injector drivers with bracket.

NOTE: Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.

c. Remove the 8 nuts and 2 injector drivers from the bracket.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER

NOTE:
- Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.
- The injector driver is grounded at the bolt and nut. To ensure that it is grounded, clean all oil and foreign matter from the installation areas of the injector driver and engine before installing the injector driver.

a. Install the 2 injector drivers to the bracket with the 8 nuts.

Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)

b. Temporarily install the 2 injector drivers (with bracket) with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.




c. Tighten the 2 bolts and 2 nuts in the order shown in the illustration.

Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)




d. Connect the 8 injector driver connectors.
1. Connect the 6 connectors with wire harness locks and the 2 connectors without wire harness locks to the 2 injector drivers.

NOTE: Connect the connector securely.

HINT: Move the lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow to lock the connector.

2. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE

3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP LH
a. Install the air cleaner cap LH.

4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP RH
a. Install the air cleaner cap RH.

5. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
6. INSTALL NO.1 AIR CLEANER INLET
7. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
9. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
10. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER
11. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
12. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH

13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
