Parking Brake Control Module: Service and Repair
ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECUCOMPONENTS:
REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUBASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
5. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH
7. REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU
(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(b) Remove the 2 nuts and seat belt control ECU.
(c) Disconnect the 2 connectors.
(d) Remove the 2 nuts and parking brake ECU.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU
(a) Install the parking brake ECU with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
(b) Connect the 2 connectors.
(c) Install the seat belt control ECU with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N*m (56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf)
(d) Connect the 2 connectors.
2. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH
3. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
4. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
5. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUBASSEMBLY
6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
7. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.
NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
9. PERFORM CALIBRATION
(a) Clear the electric parking brake ECU memory and acquire tension sensor zero point.
