Fuel Pump (for High Pressure)

ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK FUEL PUMP OPERATION
a. Check the fuel pressure.
1. Connect the intelligent tester or Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine.
3. Turn the tester on.

4. Enter the following menus:
1. intelligent tester - Select: DIAGNOSIS /ENHANCED OBD II / ACTIVE TEST / TARGET FUEL PRESS / USER DATA / FUEL PRESS.
2. Techstream - Select: ENGINE / ACTIVE TEST /

5. Check that the fuel pressure fluctuates when the target fuel pressure changes.

HINT: The TARGET FUEL PRESS operation lowers the target fuel pressure by 12.5% or increases the target fuel pressure by 25%.

Standard: Fuel pressure fluctuates in accordance with tester operation.

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump or fuel pressure sensor.

2. INSPECT FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY







a. Measure the resistance of the fuel pump.

If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump assembly.
