REMOVAL
1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT
HINT: All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet code in the table below.
2. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
a. Disable the AUTO TILT AWAY function by changing the customize parameter.
NOTICE: Record the current customize parameter setting (whether the AUTO TILT AWAY function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.
HINT: Performing the above operation causes the AUTO TILT AWAY function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.
b. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully extend and lower the steering column.
c. Turn the engine switch off and disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 8 clips and claw.
b. Remove the finish panel.
5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 8 clips and claw.
b. Remove the finish panel.
6. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.
7. REMOVE NO. 3 BOX PANEL
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the box panel.
8. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE PANEL UPPER
a. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.
b. Move the shift lever to N.
c. Remove the 2 screws.
d. Using a screwdriver, detach the 6 clips.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
e. Remove the panel and disconnect the connectors.
9. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER
a. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.
b. Detach the 2 clips.
c. Remove the panel and disconnect the connector.
10. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 clips and 2 claws.
b. Remove the end panel and then disconnect the connector.
11. REMOVE CONSOLE COVER LOWER
a. Remove the cover.
12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 screws.
b. Disconnect the connectors.
c. Detach the 2 claws and remove the console box.
13. REMOVE SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE
14. REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
15. REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY
16. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
17. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
18. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
19. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 clips.
b. Detach the 2 clips.
c. Disconnect the connectors and remove the finish panel.
20. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 screws.
b. Disconnect the connector and remove the combination meter.
21. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 clips and claw, and remove the side panel.
22. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the moulding.
23. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 screws.
b. Detach the 2 claws.
c. Disconnect the connectors and clamp, and remove the under cover.
24. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw.
HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
b. Remove the hole cover.
c. Remove the 2 screws.
d. Detach the 5 clips and claw.
e. Remove the safety pad and then disconnect the connectors.
25. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
26. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 clips and claw, and remove the side panel.
27. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
a. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the moulding.
28. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Detach the 4 claws.
b. Remove the under cover and then disconnect the connector.
29. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER
30. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
31. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 5 screws.
b. Disconnect the connector and clamp, and remove the compartment door.
32. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET
33. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/o Navigation System)
34. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for DVD)
35. REMOVE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (for HDD)
36. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
a. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a moulding remover, detach the upper 2 claws.
c. Detach the lower 2 claws.
d. Disconnect the connector and remove the register.
37. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
a. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.
b. Using a moulding remover, detach the upper 2 claws.
c. Detach the lower 2 claws.
d. Disconnect the connector and remove the register.

43. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
44. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER HOLE COVER
45. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY
46. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connectors and clamps.
b. Remove the 2 passenger airbag bolts.
c. Remove the 5 bolts and nut.
d. Detach the 5 claws and remove the safety pad.
47. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY
a. Detach the 5 claws and remove the 5 stays.
INSTALLATION
HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.
1. INSTALL NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY
a. Attach the 5 claws to install the 5 stays.
2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 5 claws to install the safety pad.
b. Install the 5 bolts and nut.
c. Install the 2 passenger airbag bolts.
Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
d. Connect the connectors and clamps.

5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

7. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
8. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 4 claws to install the register.

a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 4 claws to install the register.

a. Connect the connector and clamp, and install the compartment door.
b. Install the 5 screws.
18. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
a. Attach the 5 clips to install the moulding.
19. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

21. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 4 claws to install the under cover.
22. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH
a. Attach the 5 clips and claw to install the side panel.
23. INSTALL DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
24. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Attach the 5 clips and claw to install the safety pad.
c. Install the 2 screws.
25. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors and clamp.
b. Attach the 2 claws.
c. Install the under cover with the 2 screws.
26. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER MOULDING
a. Attach the 2 clips to install the moulding.
27. INSTALL INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH
a. Attach the 5 clips and claw to install the side panel.
28. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connector.
b. Install the combination meter with the 4 screws.
29. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Attach the 2 clips to install the finish panel.
c. Install the 2 clips.
30. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
31. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN COVER
32. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
33. INSTALL STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY
34. INSTALL NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER LOWER
35. INSTALL SWITCH AND VOLUME CASE
36. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 2 claws.
b. Connect the connectors.
c. Install the console box with the 4 bolts and 2 screws.
37. INSTALL CONSOLE COVER LOWER
a. Install the cover.
38. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 5 clips and 2 claws to install the end panel.
39. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY UPPER
a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 2 clips to install the panel.
40. INSTALL REAR CONSOLE PANEL UPPER
a. Connect the connectors.
b. Attach the 6 clips.
c. Install the panel with the 2 screws.
41. INSTALL NO. 3 BOX PANEL
a. Attach the 4 claws to install the No. 3 panel.
42. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Install the shift lever knob and twist it in the direction indicated by the arrow.
43. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH
a. Attach the 8 clips and claw to install the finish panel.
44. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH
a. Attach the 8 clips and claw to install the finish panel.
45. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE: Reset the AUTO TILT AWAY function setting to the previous condition by changing the customize parameter.
46. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
47. PERFORM INITIALIZATION a.Perform initialization.
NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
48. SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
