FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL

NOTICE: While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/ close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
4. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE: Wash brake fluid off immediately if it is spilled on any painted surface.





5. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE
(a) Remove the brake tube with SST while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.

NOTICE:
^ Do not bend or damage the brake tube.
^ Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting points.

(b) Remove the clip (labeled A).
(c) Remove the clamp bolt (labeled B).
(d) Remove the union bolt (labeled C), flexible hose and gasket.

INSTALLATION

NOTICE: While the battery is connected, even if the engine switch is off, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal and open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

HINT:
^ Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
^ The procedures listed below are for the LH side.





1. INSTALL FRONT BRAKE FLEXIBLE HOSE
(a) Connect the flexible hose with the union bolt (labeled A) and a new gasket.
Torque: 39 N*m (400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf)

NOTICE: Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the disc brake caliper.

(b) Install the clamp bolt (labeled B).
Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf)
(c) Connect the brake tube to the flexible hose with SST while holding the flexible hose with a wrench.
SST 09023-00101
Torque:
15 N*m (155 kgf*cm, 11 ft.*lbf) without SST
14 N*m (145 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf) with SST

HINT:
^ Use a torque wrench with a fulcrum length of 300 mm (11.81 in.).
^ This torque value is effective when SST is parallel to a torque wrench.

NOTICE:
^ Do not bend or damage the brake tube.
^ Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt and dust to enter the brake tube from the connecting points.

(d) Install the flexible hose with a new clip (labeled C).

NOTICE: Securely install the clip.

2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
4. BLEEDING PRECAUTION

CAUTION: Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before bleeding.

5. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID
6. DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL
7. BLEED AIR FROM FRONT BRAKE SYSTEM
8. CANCEL DISABLE BRAKE CONTROL
9. PERFORM ACCUMULATOR ZERO DOWN
10. CHECK AND ADJUST BRAKE FLUID LEVEL IN RESERVOIR
11. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
12. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 140 N*m (1428 kgf*cm, 103 ft.*lbf)

13. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

14. CLEAR DTC
(a) Clear the DTCs.
