INTRODUCTION:

Customers may complain that the trunk is stuck closed and will not open when using remote or interior switch. The trunk can continue to be opened using the key or interior safety pull. A new luggage room Junction Block has been developed to correct this condition. Use the following repair procedure to replace the luggage room Junction Block.

APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2007 model year LS 460 vehicles which is not equipped with PTL (Power Trunk Lid) produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Record radio presets.






2. Gain access to the trunk by using the mechanical key. Turn the mechanical key clockwise to open.

NOTE:
For vehicles equipped with the Lexus Navigation System, ensure that the vehicle has been OFF for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting the battery.


3. Disconnect the battery.
4. Remove the LH luggage room trim panel.






5. Replace the luggage room Junction Block.
6. Install the LH luggage room trim panel.
7. Reconnect the battery.
8. Test for proper operation of the rear trunk.
9. Re-initialize any affected power systems.
10. Set radio presets.
