REMOVAL
1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
NOTICE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
3. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the roof headlining.
4. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the airbag.
5. REMOVE CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
6. REMOVE ROOF SIDE NO. 1 AIR DUCT LH (w/ Rear Cooler)
a. Remove the 3 clips and duct.
7. REMOVE ROOF SIDE NO. 1 AIR DUCT RH (w/ Rear Cooler)
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
8. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
a. Detach the 5 claws and remove the side garnish.
9. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
10. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a T25 "TORX" driver, remove the 4 screws and glass.
11. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF GARNISH FRONT
a. Detach the 5 claws and remove the front garnish.
12. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 4 sliding roof drain hoses.
b. Remove the 14 bolts, 8 nuts and housing.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Temporarily install the housing with the 14 bolts (vehicle body side) and 8 nuts.
b. Tighten the 8 nuts.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
c. Tighten the 14 bolts.
Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in.lbf)
d. Connect the 4 drain hoses.
NOTICE: The clip must face toward the outside of the vehicle and also be above the lower surface of the sliding roof housing when installing the drain hoses.
2. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GARNISH FRONT
a. Attach the 5 claws to install the front garnish.
3. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Using a T25 "TORX" driver, temporarily install the glass with the 4 screws.
b. Perform a level check.
1. Check the difference in the level for "a" between the roof panel and the upper surface of the weather strip when the sliding roof glass is fully closed.
HINT:
"+" represents the condition that the glass is above the panel level.
"-" represents the condition that the glass is below the panel level.
2. Perform a gap check. Check the gap between the roof panel and roof glass.
NOTICE: The gap must be even all around.
c. Tighten the 4 screws.
Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)
4. CHECK FOR WATER LEAKS
a. After adjusting the sliding roof glass sub-assembly, check for water leaks.
b. If there are any leaks, readjust the sliding roof glass sub-assembly.
5. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH LH
a. Attach the 5 claws to install the sliding roof side garnish.
6. INSTALL SLIDING ROOF SIDE GARNISH RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
7. INSTALL ROOF SIDE NO. 1 AIR DUCT LH (w/ Rear Cooler)
a. Install the duct with the 3 clips.
8. INSTALL ROOF SIDE NO. 1 AIR DUCT RH (w/ Rear Cooler)
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
9. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the curtain shield airbag.
10. INSTALL CURTAIN SHIELD AIRBAG ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
11. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING
a. Install the roof headlining.
12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
13. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
15. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
