Emergency Battery: Service and Repair

Mayday Battery:

MAYDAY BATTERY

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTE: After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. REMOVE NO.1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler)
4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE ROPE HOOK
7. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
8. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH
9. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO.1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO.2 TRIM HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)
11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT
12. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
13. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH
14. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH

15. REMOVE MAYDAY BATTERY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the nut, battery and upper bracket.

16. REMOVE LOWER BRACKET
a. Remove the 2 nuts and bracket.
b. Disconnect the clamp.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL LOWER BRACKET
a. Install the bracket with the 2 nuts.
b. Connect the clamp.

2. INSTALL MAYDAY BATTERY
a. Install the battery with the upper bracket and nut.
b. Connect the connector.

3. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY LH
4. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH
5. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
6. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT
7. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO.2 TRIM HOOK (w/o Rear Cooler)
8. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO.1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH
10. INSTALL DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD RH
11. INSTALL ROPE HOOK
12. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
13. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY
14. INSTALL NO.1 COOLER COVER (w/ Rear Cooler)
15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
16. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER RH
17. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization. Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

18. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.

19. PERFORM REGISTRATION Testing and Inspection
a. Perform registration.

NOTE: When replacing the mayday battery or the mayday ECU assembly (together with mayday battery), perform registration.
