Shift Paddle Switch

SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH

Components:





REMOVAL
1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

3. REMOVE LOWER NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
4. REMOVE LOWER NO.3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
5. REMOVE STEERING PAD
6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH





a) Disconnect the clamp from the steering wheel assembly.
b) Disconnect the switch wire connector from the steering wheel assembly.





c) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the 2 shift paddle switches, and remove the switch wire.





d) Remove the 4 screws, 2 brackets and 2 shift paddle switches.

INSPECTION
1. INSPECT SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH

Switch Side (Connector Front View):





a) Disconnect the switch wire connector from the transmission shift switch.
b) Measure the resistance between each terminal when the paddle shift is moved to each position.

Standard Resistance:





If the resistance value is not as specified, replace the shift paddle switch.

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH





a) Install the 2 shift paddle switches and 2 brackets with the 4 screws.
Torque: 1.7 Nm (17 kgf-cm, 15 inch lbs.)

NOTICE: Make sure that the brackets are securely installed.





b) Connect the 2 switch wire connectors to the shift paddle switches.





c) Install the connector to the steering wheel assembly.
d) Install the clamp to the steering wheel assembly.

2. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL STEERING PAD
5. INSTALL LOWER NO.3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
6. INSTALL LOWER NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

9. REMOVE STEERING PAD
10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
