Fuel Gauge Sender: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION




1. INSPECT FUEL SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the fuel sender gauge connector.
b. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly (main).
1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly (main).
2. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.




3. Measure the resistance between the terminals 2 (S) and 3 (FE) of connector according to the value(s) in the table given.

c. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly (sub).
d. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly (sub).
e. Check that the float moves smoothly between F and E.




f. Measure the resistance between the terminals 1 (FS) and 2 (E) according to the value(s) in the table given.

HINT: If the value is not as specified, replace the fuel sender gauge assembly.
