INTRODUCTION:
This bulletin contains initialization procedures for the moon roof. In the event that a new moon roof housing assembly has been installed, an existing moon roof glass assembly has been reinstalled/adjusted, or the moon roof is going into jam protection (re-open), perform one of the following initialization procedures.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES:
- 2006 - 2007 model year IS 250/350 vehicles.
WARRANTY INFORMATION:
INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE:
Perform Initialization Procedure A if a NEW moon roof housing assembly or a NEW moon roof motor assembly has been installed on the vehicle.
Perform Initialization Procedure B if the moon roof glass has been refitted or the sub-assembly has been reinstalled.
Perform Initialization Procedure C if the moon roof goes into jam protection (reverses direction) while attempting to close.
NOTE:
- Do NOT switch any electrically powered systems ON and OFF during initialization.
- If battery voltage fluctuates by 0.5 V or more, initialization will fail.
- Permanent ECU damage will occur if power is disconnected while the moon roof motor is operating.
- Do NOT move the vehicle during initialization.
- Do NOT apply strong force to the vehicle during initialization, such as closing the doors.
Initialization Procedure A:
1. Switch ON the ignition by pressing the "START/STOP" button twice.
2. Keep the sliding roof switch in the fully closed position and the push switch pressed until the following operations are completed:
- The sliding roof moves to the fully tilt open position and remains for 1 second.
- Tilt down operation starts. After the roof is fully closed, open operation starts.
- After the roof slides to the fully open position, the operation stops and then the roof closes to the fully closed position.
- Confirm AUTO operation works normally.
Initialization Procedure B:
1. Start with the sliding roof in the fully open position.
2. Fully close the sliding roof.
3. Quickly turn the sliding roof switch assembly to position 1 (within 0.5 seconds of step 1).
4. Hold the sliding roof switch assembly at position (1) for at least 10 seconds to enter learning operation mode.
5. Steps 1-4 clear the learned values in the moon roof motor assembly. Perform Procedure A to complete the initialization of the moon roof.
Initialization Procedure C:
Push the sliding roof switch assembly to position (11) for 10 seconds or more.
