Remote Switch: Service and Repair

Steering Pad Switch:




STEERING PAD SWITCH

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

2. REMOVE LOWER NO.3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
3. REMOVE LOWER NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
4. REMOVE STEERING PAD
5. REMOVE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the cruise switch connector.




b. Disengage the connector clamp.
c. Disconnect the pad switch connector.




d. Remove the screw.
e. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the steering pad switch.




f. Remove the screw.
g. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the steering pad switch.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Engage the 2 claws and install the steering pad switch.
b. Install the screw.




c. Engage the 2 claws and install the steering pad switch.
d. Install the screw.
e. Connect the connector to the spiral cable.




f. Connect the cruise connector and install the connector clamp.

2. INSTALL STEERING PAD
3. INSTALL LOWER NO.3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
4. INSTALL LOWER NO.2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTE: Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.

7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
