Front Airbag Sensor

Front Airbag Sensor:




FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR

REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. PRECAUTION

CAUTION: Be sure to read the Restraint Systems Service Precautions thoroughly before servicing.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.

3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR UPPER LH
6. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER
7. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY




8. REMOVE FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR
a. Remove the 2 bolts and front airbag sensor from the body.
b. Disconnect the connector from the front airbag sensor LH.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR
a. Check that the engine switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.




c. Connect the connector.
d. Install the front airbag sensor with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 9.0 N.m (92 kgf.cm, 80 in.lbf)

NOTE:
- If the front airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the front airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

e. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the front airbag sensor.

2. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH
5. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
6. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

8. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Inspect the SRS warning light.

9. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIM ADJUSTMENT
10. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a tester)
11. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a screen)
12. HEADLIGHT AIMING INSPECTION
13. HEADLIGHT AIMING ADJUSTMENT
14. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIM
15. PREPARATION FOR FOG LIGHT AIMING
16. FOG LIGHT AIMING INSPECTION
17. FOG LIGHT ADJUSTMENT

18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

HINT: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
