Central Control Module: Service and Repair
Network Gateway ECU:
NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
REMOVAL
NOTE: When disassembling the network gateway ECU, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment.
2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
HINT: Removal procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side.
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER
HINT: Removal procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side.
4. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL
5. REMOVE NO.2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
6. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.
c. Remove the network gateway ECU.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
a. Install the network gateway ECU.
b. Engage the 2 claws to install the cover.
c. Connect the connector.
2. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL NO.2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. INSTALL SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL
6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER
7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION Testing and Inspection
NOTE: Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative battery terminal.
10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
