Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

Ignition Coil:





REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
5. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
a. Disconnect the ventilation hose from the cylinder head.




7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE
8. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY




9. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the 6 ignition coil connectors.
b. Remove the 6 bolts and the 6 ignition coil assemblies.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
a. Install the 6 ignition coils with the 6 bolts.

Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the 6 ignition coil connectors.

2. INSTALL INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE




4. INSTALL NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
a. Connect the ventilation hose to the cylinder head cover with the clamp.

5. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
6. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
7. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
9. CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization, Programming and Relearning.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
