Air Fuel Ratio Sensor (For Sensor 1)

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployment.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH
5. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE
6. REMOVE FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE
7. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 2WD)
8. REMOVE HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 4WD)
9. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE BATTERY
11. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY




12. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY
a. Remove the 2 bolts and battery tray.

13. REMOVE NO. 1 RELAY BLOCK COVER
14. REMOVE NO. 4 ENGINE WIRE

15. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and engine room relay block assembly.




16. REMOVE EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Disconnect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
b. Remove the 6 nuts and exhaust manifold subassembly LH and gasket.

17. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)
a. Disconnect the sensor connector.




b. Using SST, remove the sensor from the exhaust manifold RH.

18. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (BANK 2 SENSOR 1)
a. Using SST, remove the sensor from the exhaust manifold LH.
SST 09224-00010

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)
a. Using SST, install the sensor to the exhaust manifold LH.
SST 09224-00010

Torque:40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the sensor connector.




2. INSTALL AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)
a. Using SST, install the sensor to the exhaust manifold RH.SST 09224-00010

Torque:40 N.m (408 kgf.cm, 30 ft.lbf)

b. Connect the sensor connector.

3. INSTALL NO. 3 RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY




4. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
a. Install the exhaust manifold to had gasket shown in the illustration.




b. Install the exhaust manifold sub-assembly LH with the 6 nuts.

Torque:21 N.m (214 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)

c. Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.

5. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE WIRE
7. INSTALL NO. 1 RELAY BLOCK COVER




8. INSTALL BATTERY TRAY
a. Install the battery tray with the 2 bolts.

Torque:5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

9. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY
10. INSTALL BATTERY
11. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
12. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 2WD)
13. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for 4WD)
14. INSTALL FRONT CENTER FLOOR BRACE
15. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 FLOOR PANEL BRACE
16. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

17. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

18. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
19. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM COVER SIDE RH
20. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
21. EXHAUST GAS LEAK
