Diagnosis System

DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
1. CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE
Battery voltage: 11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge the battery before proceeding.

2. CHECK DLC3
(a) The vehicle's tire pressure warning ECU and receiver uses ISO 9141-2 for communication. The terminal arrangement of DLC3 complies with SAE J1962 and matches the ISO 9141-2 format.
Verify the conditions listed in the table:

HINT: If the intelligent tester display shows a communication error message when the cable of the intelligent tester is connected to the DLC3, the engine switch is turned on and the tester is in operation, there is a problem on the vehicle side or tester side.
^ If communication is normal when the tester is connected to another vehicle, inspect the DLC3 on the original vehicle.
^ If communication is still not possible when the tester is connected to another vehicle, the problem may be in the tester itself. Consult the Service Department listed in the tester operator's manual.

3. DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
(a) Warning light and indicator
(1) When there is a problem with the tire pressure warning system, the "CHECK SYSTEM" displayed on the multi-display and the master warning light comes on and the tire pressure warning light blinks at 0.5 second intervals.

NOTICE: When the malfunction has been corrected, the tire pressure warning light does not come on and the "CHECK SYSTEM" does not display.

(b) DTCs (Normal mode)
(1) DTCs are memorized in the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver and can be read by using the intelligent tester.
(c) Test mode
(1) By switching from the normal mode to the test mode (input signal check), you can inspect the tire pressure warning ECU and receiver, each tire pressure warning valve and transmitter and vehicle speed sensor.

4. CHECK WARNING LIGHT
(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(b) Check that the low tire pressure warning light comes on for 3 seconds.
If the warning light did not light for 3 seconds, proceed to the troubleshooting for the tire pressure warning light circuit.

5. LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT AND INDICATOR CHART

HINT: The table indicates the state of the low tire pressure warning light and indicator after the engine switch is turned on (IG).

*1: Comes on and goes off repeatedly at 0.5 second intervals.

HINT: The tire pressure warning light blinks for approximately 1 minute and then remains on.

*2: Comes on and goes off repeatedly at 0.125 second intervals.

*3: Blinks 3 times (1 second on, 1 second off).
*4: This message is displayed only when the engine is on.
*5: When there is no DTC, "OK" is displayed; when there is DTC, the DTC is displayed.
