Removal and Replacement

LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT

Luggage Compartment Door Support:





REMOVAL

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. REMOVE NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
2. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH
3. REMOVE DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH
4. REMOVE ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
6. REMOVE NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE ROPE HOOK
8. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
9. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
10. REMOVE SIDE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
11. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
- As much as possible avoid touching the stroke portions of the rod to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.
- Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.
- Do not apply any load to the cylinders in the horizontal direction in order to prevent the rod from being deformed.





a. Using a screwdriver, raise the claws on the bracket of the luggage compartment door support.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Using a screwdriver, remove the stop ring on the ball joint along its groove.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

c. Disengage the luggage compartment door support at the ball joint and the pin.

NOTICE: Remove the luggage compartment door support assembly while supporting the luggage compartment door with hands.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY

NOTICE:
- As much as possible avoid touching the stroke portions of the rod to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.

- Do not apply any load to the cylinders in the horizontal direction in order to prevent the rod from being deformed.

a. Return the claws on the bracket of the luggage compartment door support.
b. Install the stop ring to the luggage compartment door support.





c. Engage the luggage compartment door support to the ball joint and the pin.

NOTICE:
- Install the luggage compartment door support assembly while supporting the luggage compartment door with hand.
- Check that the luggage compartment door support assembly is engaged in the ball joint and it cannot be pulled out.

2. INSTALL SIDE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
3. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK
4. INSTALL FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
5. INSTALL ROPE HOOK
6. INSTALL NO. 2 ROOM LIGHT ASSEMBLY
7. INSTALL REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
8. INSTALL ROPE HOOK ASSEMBLY
9. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX RH
10. INSTALL DECK SIDE TRIM BOX LH
11. INSTALL NO. 2 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER
