FRONT WIPER MOTOR

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
2. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH




4. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH
a. Using a clip remover, separate the clip on the rubber portion of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly from the front upper fender protector LH.

b. Disengage the 3 clips and the claw to remove the front upper fender protector LH.

5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

6. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH
7. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.




8. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
a. Using a screwdriver, remove the front wiper arm head cap.

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
a. Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.




10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
a. Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.




11. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 clips.




b. Disengage the 11 claws, and pull out the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.




12. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the 2 bolts.




c. Disengage the rubber pin of the windshield wiper motor from the vehicle body as shown in the illustration. Remove the windshield wiper motor and link assembly.




13. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a screwdriver, separate the windshield wiper No.2 link rod from the crank arm pivot of the front wiper motor assembly as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




b. Using a screwdriver, separate the windshield wiper No.1 link rod from the pivot of the front wiper link assembly as shown in the illustration.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




c. Position the windshield wiper No.1 link rod as shown in the illustration. Using a screwdriver, remove the windshield wiper No.1 link rod.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.




d. Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), remove the 2 bolts and the windshield wiper motor assembly from the wind shield wiper link assembly.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
a. Using a "torx" socket wrench (T30), install the windshield wiper motor assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 7.5 N.m (77 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)




b. Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly.
c. Install the windshield wiper link rod No.1 to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly as shown in the illustration.




d. Apply MP grease to the pivot of the windshield wiper link assembly.
e. Install the windshield wiper link rod No.1 to the pivot of the windshield wiper link assembly as shown in the illustration.




f. Install the windshield wiper link rod No.2 to the crank arm pivot of the windshield wiper motor assembly as shown in the illustration.




2. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the windshield wiper motor and link assembly with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

b. Connect the connector.




3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Engage the 11 claws.




b. Install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly with the 2 clips.

4. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH
a. Operate the wiper, and stop the windshield wiper motor at the automatic stop position.




b. Clean the wiper arm serrations.
c. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush (when reinstalling).




d. Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH with the nut at the position as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 22 N.m (224 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)






HINT: Hold the arm hinge by hand to fasten the nut.

5. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH
a. Operate the wiper, and stop the windshield wiper motor at the automatic stop position.





b. Clean the wiper arm serrations.
c. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush (when reinstalling).




d. Install the front wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut at the position as shown in the illustration.

Torque: 22 N.m (224 kgf.cm, 16 ft.lbf)




HINT: Hold the arm hinge by hand to fasten the nut.

e. Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and there is no interference with the vehicle body.




6. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP
a. Install the front wiper arm head cap.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

7. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH
8. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH




9. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH
a. Engage the claw and the 3 clips then install the front upper fender protector LH.
b. Engage the clip on the rubber portion of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly to the front upper fender protector LH.

10. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH

HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.

11. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
13. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
