Rear No.2 Suspension Arm

REAR NO.2 SUSPENSION ARM

Components:





REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE NO.2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR
3. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE
4. REMOVE REAR NO.2 SUSPENSION ARM





a) Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the rear stabilizer link assembly and the height control sensor link bracket.
b) Remove the bolt and nut, and disconnect the rear shock absorber with coil spring.

NOTICE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

c) Remove the nut and bolt on the axle carrier side, and separate the rear No.2 suspension arm.

NOTICE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

d) Remove the bolt, nut, and washer on the rear suspension member side, and remove the rear No.2 suspension arm.

INSTALLATION
1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO.2 SUSPENSION ARM





a) Temporarily install the rear No.2 suspension arm with the bolt, nut, and washer.
b) Temporarily install the rear No.2 suspension arm with the bolt and nut.
c) Temporarily install the rear shock absorber with coil spring with the bolt and nut.
d) Temporarily install the stabilizer link assembly and the height control sensor link bracket to the rear No.2 suspension arm with the bolt and nut.

HINT: Fully tighten the nut after stabilizing the suspension.

2. STABILIZE SUSPENSION





a) Jack up the axle carrier, with a wooden block placed between the jack and axle carrier, to apply a load to the rear suspension so that the rear drive shaft assembly becomes level.

3. FULLY TIGHTEN REAR NO.2 SUSPENSION ARM





a) Fully tighten the bolt (A) on the axle carrier side.
Torque: 161 Nm (1,640 kgf-cm, 119 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

b) Fully tighten the bolt (B) holding the rear shock absorber with coil spring.
Torque: 110 Nm (1,120 kgf-cm, 81 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Turn the bolt while holding the nut.

c) Fully tighten the nut (C) holding the rear stabilizer link assembly.
Torque: 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 20 ft. lbs.)
d) Using a ball joint lock nut wrench (19 mm), fully tighten the nut (D) on the rear suspension member side.
Torque: 140 Nm (1,430 kgf-cm, 103 ft. lbs.)
When using a ball joint lock nut wrench 102 Nm (1,040 kgf-cm, 75 ft. lbs.)

4. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE
5. INSTALL NO.2 DIFFERENTIAL SUPPORT PROTECTOR
6. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 Nm (1,050 kgf-cm, 76 ft. lbs.)

7. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
8. VEHICLE PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIM ADJUSTMENT
9. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a tester)
10. PREPARATION FOR HEADLIGHT AIMING (Using a screen)
11. INSPECT HEADLIGHT AIMING
