Removal and Replacement
REMOVAL1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER
6. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT
7. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
8. REMOVE RADIATOR INLET HOSE
9. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER
10. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY
11. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS
a. Remove the 3 nuts (A) and disconnect wire harness.
b. Disconnect the 2 connectors (B).
12. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the terminal cap.
b. Remove the nut (A) and disconnect the wire harness from terminal B.
c. Remove the bolt (B) and clamp bracket.
d. Disconnect the generator connector, and detach the 2 clamps.
e. Remove the nut, and disconnect the generator bracket.
f. Remove the 2 bolts and generator.
g. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 generator brackets.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the 2 generator brackets with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
b. Install the generator assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 43 N.m (438 kgf.cm, 32 ft.lbf)
c. Install the bracket with the nut.
Torque: 20 N.m (204 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
d. Install the generator wire to terminal B with the nut (A).
Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf.cm, 87 in.lbf)
e. Install the terminal cap.
f. Install the clamp bracket with the bolt (B).
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
g. Attach the 2 clamps, and connect the generator connector to the generator.
2. INSTALL WIRE HARNESS
a. Install the wire harness with the 3 nuts (A).
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the 2 connectors (B).
3. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE COVER
5. INSTALL RADIATOR INLET HOSE
6. INSTALL V-RIBBED BELT
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. ADD ENGINE COOLANT
9. CHECK FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAKS
10. INSTALL NO. 1 INLET AIR CLEANER
11. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
12. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH
13. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after reconnecting the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
