Fuel Pressure Pulsation Damper: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE
3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER
a. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.

4. REMOVE FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the fuel pulsation damper and 2 gaskets, and disconnect the fuel main tube from the fuel pump.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL PRESSURE PULSATION DAMPER ASSEMBLY




a. Install 2 new gaskets, the fuel main tube and pulsation damper to the fuel pump.

Torque:
39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf) for use without SST
33 N.m (337 kgf.cm, 24 ft.lbf) for use with SST

2. INSTALL V-BANK COVER
a. Install the cover with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)

3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
