Rear Differential Carrier Assembly

REMOVAL
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL
(a) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential filler plug and gasket.
(b) Using a hexagon wrench (10 mm), remove the differential drain plug and gasket, and drain the oil.
3. REMOVE EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
6. REMOVE REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Removal procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side.
7. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the differential carrier with a jack.
NOTICE: Do not drop the differential carrier.
(b) Using a hexagon wrench (12 mm), remove the 3 hexagon bolts.
(c) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 differential mount stopper lowers and differential carrier rear.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER ASSEMBLY
(a) Support the differential carrier rear assembly with a jack.
NOTICE: Do not drop the differential carrier.
(b) Using a hexagon wrench (12 mm), temporarily install the differential carrier to the suspension member with 3 new bolts.
(c) Install the mount stopper upper and mount stopper lower. Temporarily install the differential carrier rear to the suspension member with 2 new bolts.
(d) Using a hexagon wrench (12 mm) and torque wrench, tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.
Torque: 142 N*m (1,450 kgf*cm, 105 ft.*lbf)
(e) Using a torque wrench, tighten 2 bolts to the specified torque.
Torque: 95 N*m (970 kgf*cm, 70 ft.*lbf)
NOTICE: Do not tilt the inner tube and rubber parts when fully tightening the differential mount stopper.
2. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH
3. INSTALL REAR DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH
HINT: Install procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side.
4. INSTALL REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY
5. ADD REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL
6. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR DIFFERENTIAL OIL
7. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 N*m (1,050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
8. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
9. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT
10. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS
11. CHECK ABS SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
