Rear Acceleration Sensor
REMOVALNOTE:
- Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
- The acceleration sensor removed from the vehicle must not be placed upside down.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE REAR ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Fold back the upper part of the luggage compartment trim cover inner.
b. Disconnect the sensor connector.
c. Remove the bolt and sensor.
3. REMOVE REAR ACCELERATION SENSOR
a. Remove the nut and sensor from the bracket.
INSTALLATION
NOTE: Do not drop the acceleration sensor. If it is dropped, replace it with a new one.
1. INSTALL REAR ACCELERATION SENSOR
a. Install the sensor to the bracket with the nut.
Torque: 7.8 N.m (80 kgf.cm, 69 in.lbf)
NOTE: Avoid any impact to the sensor.
2. INSTALL REAR ACCELERATION SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Install the sensor with the bolt.
Torque: 8.5 N.m (87 kgf.cm, 75 in.lbf)
NOTE: Avoid any impact to the acceleration sensor.
b. Connect the sensor connector.
c. Return the luggage compartment trim cover inner RH to its original position.
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. INSPECT ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM
a. Inspect the adaptive variable suspension system.
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
