Rear Airbag Sensor:

REAR AIRBAG SENSOR

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT LH AND RH HEADREST ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH (w/o REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY)
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY)




8. REMOVE REAR AIRBAG SENSOR
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the bolt, nut and rear airbag sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR AIRBAG SENSOR
a. Check that the engine switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.

CAUTION: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.




c. Install the rear airbag sensor with the nut and bolt.

Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

CAUTION:
- If the rear airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the rear airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

d. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the rear airbag sensor.
e. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE GARNISH (w/o REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
3. INSTALL REAR SEAT SIDE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (w/ REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY)
4. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE
5. INSTALL REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
6. INSTALL REAR SEAT LH AND RH HEADREST ASSEMBLY
7. INSTALL REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
10. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
