MAYDAY ECU

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT




a. Remove the floor mat.

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY




a. Using a screwdriver, detach the claw and remove the light.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

b. Disconnect the connector.

4. REMOVE TOOL BOX




a. Remove the tool box.

5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE




a. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 hooks.
b. Remove the 3 clips labeled A.
c. Detach the 4 clips to remove the finish plate.

6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT




a. Detach the hook.




b. Remove the rope hook.




c. Detach the 4 claws and remove the trim cover.

7. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LH




a. Remove the bolt and hook.
b. Remove the 3 clips and trim cover.

8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER RH




a. Remove the bolt and hook.
b. Remove the 3 clips and trim cover.

9. REMOVE MAYDAY ASSEMBLY




a. Remove the 2 bolts and Mayday assembly with wire harness.




b. Disconnect the 5 connectors and 2 clamps and remove the Mayday assembly.

INSTALLATION

HINT: A bolt without a torque specification is given in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL MAYDAY ASSEMBLY




a. Connect the 5 connectors and 2 clamps to install the wire harness.




b. Install the Mayday assembly with wire harness with the 2 bolts.

2. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER RH




a. Install the trim cover with the 3 clips.
b. Install the hook with the bolt.

3. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER INNER LH




a. Install the trim cover with the 3 clips.
b. Install the hook with the bolt.

4. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT




a. Attach the 4 claws to install the trim cover.




b. Attach the hook.




c. Install the rope hook.

5. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE




a. Install the finish plate with the 4 clips.
b. Install the 3 clips labeled A.
c. Install the 2 bolts and 2 hooks on both sides.

6. INSTALL TOOL BOX




a. Install the tool box.

7. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT NO. 1 LIGHT ASSEMBLY




a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the claw to install the light.

8. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT




a. Install the floor mat.

9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.

11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization. Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

12. PERFORM REGISTRATION
a. Perform registration. Testing and Inspection

NOTE: When replacing the Mayday battery or the Mayday ECU assembly (together with Mayday battery), perform registration.
