Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair

High Mounted Stop Light Assembly:




HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.




2. REMOVE HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Detach the 2 claws and remove the stop light from the package tray trim center bracket.
b. Disconnect the connector.




3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor from the high mounted stop lamp base.

INSTALLATION




1. INSTALL AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 2 claws and install the sensor to the package tray trim center bracket.




2. INSTALL HIGH MOUNTED STOP LIGHT ASSEMBLY
a. Connect the connector.
b. Attach the 2 claws and install the stop light to the package tray trim center bracket.

3. CONNECT CONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal
