APPLICABILITY:
INTRODUCTION:
Some 4WD equipped GS350 vehicles may exhibit a whine noise around 100 KPH (60 MPH) on deceleration or when cruising. Production changes have been made to eliminate this noise. Follow the procedure in the bulletin to address this condition.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
This TSB applies to vehicles produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VIN shown.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Confirm if there is a whine noise around 100 KPH (60 MPH) on deceleration or when cruising.
Is the noise present around 100 KPH (60 MPH)?
Yes - Continue to step 2.
No - This Service Bulletin does not apply, continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.
2. Remove the rear propeller shaft and confirm if washers are present between the center support bearing and the body of the vehicle.
Are the center support bearing washers installed?
Yes - This TSB does not apply, continue diagnosis per the Repair Manual.
No - Continue to step 3.
3. Install rear propeller shaft center support bearing washers.
For complete removal and installation procedures, refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model year GS350 Repair Manual:
- 2007 GS350: Drivetrain - Drive Shaft/Propeller Shaft: "Propeller Shaft Assembly (for 2GRFSE 4WD): Removal / Installation"
- 2008 GS350: Drivetrain - Drive Shaft/Propeller Shaft: "Propeller Shaft Assembly (for 2GRFSE 4WD): Removal / Installation" - 2009 GS350: Drivetrain - Drive Shaft/Propeller Shaft: "Propeller Shaft Assembly (for 2GRFSE 4WD): Removal / Installation"

4. Test drive the vehicle and confirm that the noise is no longer present.
NOTE
If the whine noise continues or there seems to be a driveline vibration after washer installation, reference the rear propeller shaft installation repair manual document listed above.
