INSPECTION
1. INSPECT REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect the ball joint (Rear stabilizer bar side).
(1) Temporarily install the nut, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
(2) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 2.0 N*m (20 kgf*cm, 1.5 in.*lbf) or less
(b) Inspect the ball joint (Rear suspension arm assembly No.2 side).
(1) Temporarily install the nut and bolt, and flip the ball joint stud back and forth 5 times as shown in the illustration.
(2) Use a torque wrench to turn the nut continuously at a rate of 3 to 5 seconds per turn. Take the torque reading on the 5th turn.
Turning torque: 2.5 N*m (25 kgf*cm, 1.8 in.*lbf) or less
If the value is not within the specified range, replace the rear stabilizer link assembly LH with a new one.
(c) Check the dust boots for cracks or grease leakage.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER BAR
(a) Insert the rear stabilizer bar between the rear suspension member and exhaust tailpipe assembly so that the indication mark on the rear stabilizer bar is on the right of the vehicle.
(b) Install the 2 stabilizer bush rears and stabilizer brackets.
NOTICE:
Be sure to install the rear stabilizer bush so that the cutout faces the rear of the vehicle.
(c) Install the rear stabilizer bar with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 32 N*m (326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf)
2. INSTALL REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH
(a) Install the stabilizer link assembly LH to the rear suspension No.2 arm and load sensing valve sensor bracket with the bolt and nut.
