Seat Belt Control Module: Service and Repair
Seat Belt Control ECU:
SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
3. REMOVE TOOL BOX
4. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT
6. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVER INNER LH
7. REMOVE SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
a. Remove the 3 nuts and disconnect ECU.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Remove the nut.
d. Detach the claw and remove the ECU.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL SEAT BELT CONTROL ECU
a. Attach the claw of the ECU stay to install the junction block.
b. Install the nut.
c. Connect the connector.
d. Install the ECU with the 3 nuts.
2. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM SIDE COVER INNER LH
3. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER FRONT
4. INSTALL REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE
5. INSTALL TOOL BOX
6. INSTALL LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
8. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
a. Check the SRS warning light.
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
a. Perform initialization.
