Center Airbag Sensor Assembly:

CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag working.

2. REMOVE CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT
3. REMOVE FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LH PANEL END
5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH RH PANEL END
6. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX PLATE
7. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX




9. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the holder (with connectors).
b. Remove the nut, 2 bolts and center airbag sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
a. Check that the engine switch is off.
b. Check that the battery negative (-) terminal is disconnected.

NOTE: After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, wait for at least 90 seconds before starting the operation.




c. Install the center airbag sensor with the nut and 2 bolts.

Torque: 18 N.m (184 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf)

NOTE:
- If the center airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace it with a new one.
- When installing the center airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.

d. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the center airbag sensor.
e. Connect the holder (with connectors).
f. Check that the water-proof sheet is properly set.

2. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX
3. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX REGISTER ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX PLATE
5. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH END
6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL RH END
7. INSTALL FRONT ASH RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY
8. INSTALL CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH FRONT
9. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
11. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
