Secondary Injector Control Module: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Remove the bolt and No. 1 air cleaner inlet.
4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER
a. Remove the clip, 2 cap nuts and cover.
5. REMOVE INJECTOR DRIVER
a. Disconnect the 4 injector driver connectors.
1. Move the lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow to release the connector lock.
Disconnect the 3 connectors with wire harness locks and the connector from the injector driver.
b. Remove the bolt, 2 nuts and injector driver.
NOTE: Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER
NOTE:
- Be careful not to drop or strike the injector driver.
- The injector driver is grounded at the bolt and nut. To ensure that it is grounded, clean all oil and foreign matter from the installation areas of the injector driver and engine before installing the injector driver.
a. Install the injector driver with the bolt and 2 nuts.
Torque: 10 N.m (102 kgf.cm, 7 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the 4 injector driver connectors.
1. Connect the 3 connectors with wire harness locks and the connector to the injector driver. Move the lock lever in the direction indicated by the arrow to lock the connector.
NOTE: Connect the connector securely.
2. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER
a. Install the cover with the 2 cap nuts and clip.
3. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
a. Install the No. 1 air cleaner inlet with the bolt.
Torque: 5.0 N.m (51 kgf.cm, 44 in.lbf)
4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
