Radiator Cooling Fan Control Module: Service and Repair

COOLING FAN ECU

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
4. REMOVE COOLING FAN ECU
(a) Disconnect the 3 connectors from the ECU.
(b) Remove the 2 screws and ECU from the fan shroud.

INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL COOLING FAN ECU
(a) Install the ECU to the fan shroud with the 2 screws.
Torque: 2.5 N*m (25 kgf*cm, 22 in.*lbf)
(b) Connect the 3 connectors to the ECU.

2. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET
3. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
