HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed are for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUBASSEMBLY FRONT
a. Remove the front tire.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. 2WD:
Remove the nut and sensor link from the lower arm.
d. 4WD:
Remove the bolt and sensor link from the lower arm.
e. Remove the 2 bolts and sensor.
3. REMOVE HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUBASSEMBLY REAR
a. Remove the rear tire.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Put matchmarks on the sensor link and bracket.
d. Remove the 2 bolts and sensor.
INSTALLATION
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

1. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUBASSEMBLY REAR
a. Install the height control sensor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 13.5 N.m (138 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
b. Align matchmarks on the height control sensor and bracket.
c. Install the nut.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
d. Connect the connector.
e. Install the rear tire.
2. INSTALL HEIGHT CONTROL SENSOR SUBASSEMBLY FRONT
a. Install the height control sensor with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 13.5 N.m (138 kgf.cm, 10 ft.lbf)
b. 4WD:
Install the height control sensor link with the bolt to the lower arm.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
c. 2WD:
Install the height control sensor link with the nut to the lower arm.
Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf.cm, 48 in.lbf)
d. Install the front tire.
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
5. ADJUST HEADLIGHT AIMING
