Lumbar Support Adjuster Assembly

LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Wear protective gloves. Sharp areas on the seat adjuster may injure your hands.

HINT: Use the same procedures for the LH and RH side.

1. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY





a. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front seat belt hole cover.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





b. Apply protective tape around the seat belt anchor cover cap to the cushion shield.
c. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the seat belt anchor cover cap.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

d. Move the seat using the power seat switch knob so that the seat belt anchor bolt is revealed.





e. Remove the bolt and front seat outer belt anchor.

2. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY





a. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.
b. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the seat track bracket cover front inner and outer.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

c. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.
d. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the foremost position.





e. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 claws and remove the seat track bracket cover rear inner and outer.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

f. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.
g. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

h. Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the seat.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY





4. REMOVE RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
Using a screwdriver, detach the knob.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.





5. REMOVE SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
a. Using a screwdriver, detach the knob.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY





a. Disconnect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board from the front seat frame.
b. Disconnect the connector from the No. 1 interior illumination light assembly.





c. Remove the 5 screws.
d. Detach the claw and remove the cushion shield assembly in the order indicated in the illustration.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

e. Disconnect the connector from the lumbar front power seat switch.

7. REMOVE FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY





a. Open the lower part of the seatback cover. Then remove the 2 screws.





b. Pull the seatback board in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 claws. Then, remove the seatback board.

8. REMOVE SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD





a. Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 headrest supports.





b. Remove the 4 bolts and front seatback cover inner outer.





c. Remove the hog rings and open the upper part of the seatback cover.





d. Remove the nut and 2 seatback cover brackets.
e. Detach the hooks and remove the hog rings and the seatback cover with pad from the seat frame.





9. REMOVE LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 2 screws and pull out the lumbar support adjuster assembly.

INSTALLATION

HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH and RH side.
- A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart.

1. INSTALL LUMBAR SUPPORT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY
a. Install the lumbar support adjuster with the 2 screws.
b. Connect the connector.

2. INSTALL SEPARATE TYPE FRONT SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD
a. Install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat frame.
b. Install the 2 headrest supports.
c. Fully cover the airbag with the 2 seatback cover brackets and tighten the nut.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

CAUTION:
- For vehicles with side airbags, the seatback cover must be securely installed. Otherwise, the side airbags may not deploy properly.
- Make sure that the strap is not twisted after installing the bracket.
- Install the bracket securely
.





d. Using hog ring pliers, install the seatback cover (with pad) to the seat adjuster with new hog rings, and attach the hooks.
e. Install the 2 headrest supports.





f. Install the front seatback cover inner and outer with the 4 bolts.

3. INSTALL FRONT SEATBACK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 2 claws and install the seatback board with the 2 screws.

4. INSTALL FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD ASSEMBLY
a. Attach the 2 claws and install the cushion shield.
b. Install the 5 screws.
c. Connect the 2 rubber bands of the front seatback board to the seat frame.

5. INSTALL RECLINING POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
6. INSTALL SLIDE AND VERTICAL POWER SEAT SWITCH KNOB
7. INSTALL FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY





8. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
a. Place the seat in the cabin.

NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

b. Connect the connector under the seat.
c. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
d. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the foremost position.
e. Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

Torque: 36.8 N.m (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

HINT: Tighten the 2 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.

f. Operate the power seat switch knob and move the seat to the rearmost position.
g. Tighten the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

Torque: 36.8 N.m (375 kgf.cm, 27 ft.lbf)

HINT: Tighten the 2 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration.





9. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY
a. Move the seat using the power seat switch knob so that the seat belt anchor bolt is revealed.
b. Install the front seat outer belt anchor with the bolt.

Torque: 42 N.m (428 kgf.cm, 31 ft.lbf)

c. Install the seat belt anchor cover cap.

10. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
Perform initialization.

NOTICE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

11. CHECK SRS WARNING LIGHT
Check the SRS warning light.

12. INSPECT FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY
a. Check the power seat operation.
b. Check the seat heater operation (with seat heater).
1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
2. Turn the seat heater switch ON.
3. Wait 5 minutes or more and confirm that the seat surface becomes warm.
